A "lost" railway and abandoned limestone quarry complex in the North Shropshire Hills. Fields, coppices and a stream run through the site. The largest monorail complex in the UK with standard gauge and narrow gauge also in situ with the largest lime kilns ever built in the UK. Woodland, meadows and a stream enhance the site. Ideal for re-enactment events which we believe to be unique in the UK. Plenty of space for reenactors, trades people and entertainers. We are raising funds to continue to restore the complex. Outside charities are welcome. A full programme of entertainment, displays and more. Plus a Saturday evening dance in the marquee.
Saturday 23rd October and Sunday 24th October 2021.
Admission is £5 for adults, £2 for children (over 5), Family ticket of 2 adults, 2 children £12. Available on the gate.
We do not charge an admission fee on standard days as our charitable aims are for the site access to be free, but there may be a charge for some events, train rides and special events. During the Heritage Open Days, a free train ride is included in admission.
